The Battle on the Bricks Is Almost Here!
A Race Weekend at My Home Track!
| There’s nothing quite like racing at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, and I’m excited to get back behind the wheel of the Aston Martin with CSM Motorsport for the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge this weekend! The TireRack.com Battle on the Bricks is bringing some of the best sports car racing in the world to my home track, and I want to see as many of you there as possible. Whether you’re a longtime racing fan or have never been to an IMSA race, this is a weekend you won’t want to miss. Here’s what’s coming up! Thursday, September 17 — IMSA Fan Fest 5:00–8:00 PM | Main Street, Speedway Let’s kick off the weekend together! The IMSA Street Festival is a free, family-friendly event on Main Street in Speedway, and it’s a great way to get up close to the cars and drivers before the racing begins. The evening will feature: IMSA race cars and a parade of cars along Main Street from 6–8 PM. Driver Q&A and autograph sessions. Pit stop demonstrations. A fan zone with activities and booths for fans of all ages. I’ll be there, so come say hi, grab a photo, and get ready for an awesome weekend of racing! Friday, September 18 — Practice Day Indianapolis Motor Speedway Friday is all about getting the Aston Martin dialed in for Saturday’s race. The Michelin Pilot Challenge is a production-based sports car racing series, and with cars from manufacturers like Aston Martin, BMW, Porsche, and others, the competition is always intense. My Friday schedule: 10:40–11:40 AM: Michelin Pilot Challenge Practice 1. 5:50–6:50 PM: Michelin Pilot Challenge Practice 2. One of the coolest things about an IMSA weekend is the fan access. Fans can get into the infield and experience the IMSA paddock and garage area throughout the weekend. You can see the cars up close, watch teams prepare, and get a feel for what goes into putting a race car on track. If you’ve never experienced sports car racing from the paddock, this is a great opportunity to see it for yourself. Saturday, September 19 — RACE DAY! My race day timeline 8:20–8:35 AM — Michelin Pilot Challenge Qualifying (GS) We’ll be fighting for a strong starting position in the Grand Sport class. Every lap counts when the field is this competitive. 1:30–2:10 PM — Pre-Race Grid Walk This is one of the coolest parts of the weekend, and it’s something I really hope you’ll take advantage of. Fans get the opportunity to walk onto the starting grid shortly before the race. You can stroll along the straightaway, take pictures at the Yard of Bricks, see the race cars up close, and experience the energy of the pre-race buildup. 2:30–4:30 PM — Michelin Pilot Challenge Race Two hours of bumper-to-bumper sports car racing at the Racing Capital of the World. The Aston Martin will be on track, and we’ll be pushing hard from start to finish. With a competitive field, changing traffic, and no room for mistakes, this is going to be an exciting race. There’s More Racing All Weekend While the Michelin Pilot Challenge is my main focus, there’s plenty of other racing happening at IMS, too. You’ll also get to see the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, Porsche Carrera Cup, Lamborghini Super Trofeo, and Mazda MX-5 Cup. There will be a mix of high-performance prototype cars, GT sports cars, and production-based race cars throughout the weekend. It’s a full weekend of motorsport at one of the most iconic tracks in the world. Come Out to IMS! If you’ve been looking for a reason to visit Indianapolis Motor Speedway, this is it. The IMSA Battle on the Bricks is a great opportunity to experience sports car racing up close, and with open paddock access all weekend, you can get much closer to the action than you might expect. General Admission tickets are roughly $50 for Saturday or $120 for the full Friday–Sunday weekend. Children 15 and under are admitted free with a paying adult in General Admission locations.
